Astrology FAQ — Your Questions Answered

Answers to common questions about natal charts, birth time, zodiac signs and how AstroAtlas works.
What is a natal chart?

A natal (birth) chart is a snapshot of the sky at the exact moment and place you were born. It maps the Sun, Moon, planets, the rising sign and the twelve houses — the blueprint astrologers read to describe your personality and life themes.

Do I need my exact birth time?

For the Sun sign and planetary signs, no. But the Ascendant (rising sign), the house placements and the precise Moon degree depend on the time — even 20 minutes can shift them. AstroAtlas lets you mark the time as unknown and keeps those parts approximate.

Is AstroAtlas free?

Yes — building your natal chart, exploring the wheel, transits, synastry, the Destiny Matrix, moon phases and astrocartography is completely free, with no sign-up. An optional paid Full Personal Report adds a written, in-depth reading.

How accurate are the calculations?

AstroAtlas computes positions from a precise ephemeris and is verified to the arcminute against professional references for the Sun, Moon, planets, Ascendant and Midheaven.

Is astrology scientifically proven?

Astrology is a symbolic language, not a physical science. AstroAtlas treats it as a tool for reflection and self-understanding — the calculations are astronomically exact, while the interpretations are for insight and entertainment.

What languages does AstroAtlas support?

The app and this knowledge base are available in Ukrainian and English.
